Ready to Blog
I will start with my introduction on my profile: So I'm suppose to introduce myself in 1200 characters or less...let's see how it goes. I'm a 35 yr. old wife to Michael and a mom to Mikaela, 13 and Zac, 8. I have owned a quilting business for the past six years. I am a proud child of God and that in part is what is bringing me here...My Journey. The last two years have been a journey through the desert. God has been faithful thru all my complaining, whining, crying, doubting and to be honest, some pretty good hissy fits. Although, we aren't in our Promised Land just yet, I am trusting God's promise to me in Jeremiah 29:11(this happens to be my life verse) for 2012. I will catch you up to speed quickly...In 2010, my husband's job changed and we have taken some pretty hard hits financially since. We will be moving from our home of 13 years in just a couple of weeks, we are looking for a new church home and well, yeah, pretty much everything is up in the air...lol. 2012 is going to be a year of new beginnings and even though I am a little scared, I can't wait. Time to put all this behind us and move forward. Two things that I have gained out of wandering in the desert is some great friendships and a love for running. Not only do I have a wonderful family but I have some pretty amazing friends that I probably wouldn't have if not for the desert(you will probably hear me say that alot). As for the running, it has become pretty much an obsession. I have never been able to run a mile without stopping..not even half a mile but at that time in my life I needed to find something I could set my mind too and I needed to lose about 25lbs so..... I started the C25K program in March and ran my first 5k in May in 36 min 20 sec. I realized then I had been bit by the running bug and with the help of one of those great friends I was telling you about, I have lost 30 lbs and I am training for my first half marathon...The Disney Princess Half Marathon in February!!! I am so excited :). And yes, I will cry when I cross that finish line. My goal time is 2hrs. 30 min. Philippians 4:13 has truly been my mantra. Michele and I will run our longest run to date on New Year's Eve....15 miles. The purpose of me doing this blog is to journal this next year, copying the title of my devotion yesterday...From the Promise to the Promised Land. So I hope I don't bore you too much with my ramblings but one thing I can say...it will be interesting! See you Jan. 1 and Happy New Year.
